IEE Balikpapan 2026 Successfully Held, Supporting the Energy Industry

Over three days, the event successfully served as a meeting point for players in the energy, mining, construction, and oil and gas industries to share innovations, expand business networks, and open new cooperation opportunities.

Interestingly, this is the first time IEE has been held in Balikpapan, featuring three major exhibitions simultaneously: Mining Indonesia, Construction Indonesia, and Oil & Gas Indonesia. The presence of these three exhibitions is proof of the strong relationship between the energy, construction, and mining sectors, which are currently the main drivers of national industrial growth, especially in the Kalimantan and Eastern Indonesia regions.

Based on data from PT Pamerindo Indonesia, the organizer, Indonesia Energy Engineering Balikpapan 2026 successfully attracted 4,761 industry visitors. Not only that, over 100 exhibitors participated, bringing more than 200 product brands from various countries. Throughout the event, hundreds of business matching sessions were held to connect business players with potential partners and investors.

Deputy Event Director of Pamerindo Indonesia, Hanung Hanindito, stated that the high enthusiasm of the participants indicates a growing need for an industrial collaboration platform. According to him, IEE Balikpapan has great potential to become a strategic platform supporting the industrial development in East Kalimantan and the broader Eastern Indonesia region.

IEE Balikpapan 2026 Becomes a Discussion Space

In addition to presenting industrial technology and product exhibitions, IEE Series Balikpapan 2026 also served as a discussion space for various issues of concern in the energy and engineering sectors. These ranged from the transformation of the oil and gas industry, supply chain strengthening, the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI), to digital technologies for improving operational efficiency and sustainability.

Hype Friends, one of the topics that garnered significant attention came from the mining sector. In several discussion forums, industry players discussed the use of drone or UAV technology and Artificial Intelligence to increase productivity and workplace safety in mining areas. Additionally, Auger Mining technology was introduced as a solution to optimize existing coal reserves without the need for mine area expansion.

Not only focusing on industrial development, IEE Balikpapan 2026 also provided opportunities for the younger generation to get closer to the working world. A total of 80 students from various universities in Balikpapan participated in an industrial visit program, allowing them to directly observe technological advancements and career opportunities in the energy, construction, mining, and oil and gas sectors.

The success of this inaugural event further solidifies Balikpapan's position as a strategic industrial hub in Indonesia. Given the high interest from participants and visitors, the organizers confirmed that IEE Series Balikpapan will be held again from June 9-11, 2027.

Meanwhile, the Indonesia Energy Engineering (IEE) Series 2026 journey will continue to Surabaya with the Indonesia Energy Week event from July 15-17, 2026. Following that, the series of events will culminate in Jakarta through Energy Week from September 2-5, 2026, and Energy & Engineering Week from September 9-12, 2026.
